Like they say,'spark in eyes when dear ones are around'.My dearest cousin visited us to Chennai from Hyderabad. We used to roam around since our childhood. So many memories with her and other cousins. We decided to go to chokidani, its an hour drive from velachary.

I keep mentioning about chennai's climate in all contexts, apologies for that. This must be because of the neutral climate conditions I got used to in Hyderabad ,that here in Chennai, the humidity scares me all the time.Once again was not hopeful if I will have fun in this rajasthani place due to humidity. But in contrast, the place made me forget all that.My friends say, you go their with kids and they can have lots of fun.But for me,not just kids, adults too will have great fun.

We enjoyed the whole place. We were on time at 5 pm,collected our tickets and not missed even a minute till the closing time.Rajasthani culture is loved by people of all traditions. There are many activities in Chokidani.
- Exhibits
- Potter
- Puppet show
- Rides
- Food
- Dance (Rajasthani )
- Song performances
- Gun shoot
- Drum beat etc

There were a group of 3 people ,one on dholak, one on harmonium and the other with a peculiar ancient type instrument, singing old classics, sufi and gazals. All the tourists were busy seeing the dance performances, rides and other activities. We were just passing by the group and sat on the rope weaved cot placed opposite to them.We loved the talent in them and requested if they could sing few sufi's we had told them to.They were more than happy to sing for us.

We could see from far, many people stopped at a place, trying to find out what it is,we see a guy doing pottery and guiding us to do it by ourselves. We may or may not buy the one we made, each clay lamp (diya) depending on the size and shape costing very low ,15/- to 20/-.We wanted to try our hands in it ,he explained when to move our fingers and how in order to get the shape we desire to have. That looked simple but its an 'ART'.Comes only by practice and interest.

My cousin tried it first and later insisted me to do it.I loved it.First picture in this post is the lamp made by me(Ofcourse with 90% help of the man owning it 🙈).Below is the image of how it looked before its final shape, suddenly bends in shape of oil lamp (diya),he made my fingers move in some sort and suddenly with that technique and practice of his the final shape comes.
Then we took part in camel rides :D.Then comes balloon shoot, which only the girls won all the shots. :D.We had some snacks and rajasthani special juices in the food court. It was getting dark and we were tired but still were checking out for anything else we missed when we found far from us ,a dance performance which everyone were enjoying.Everyone were dancing to the rhythm and sound.Girls dancing had really good moves, again ,art needs practice.Hatsoff to the girls.

It was 9 pm when we started searching for dining hall.It was a very warm welcome by the people, more like relatives welcoming you to their house. The seating area was very big, seating arrangement was a typical rajasthani style ,a low seating dining, colorful covers. They started serving us a sweet, then one by one tasty, yummy colorful, interesting dish.It was worth 1500/- per plate meal while they charges just half of that per ticket. They kept asking for more servings and are very friendly hosts. No restaurant can offer such a good ambiance and tasty, worth food.
I have recommended many of my friends to visit chokidani and everyone of them had fun to core.
