Krabi

Travel Plan : Bangkok- Chiang Mai - Krabi
Number of Travelers : 4
Hotel in Krabi : Phu Panwa Resort
Hotel Rating : 3.7/5

After Chiang Mai,its beach and island time.I slept the day before our krabi journey ,memorizing Garden Palace(Bhubing Palace) and night bazaar as I loved those colorful places.I had a tight sleep😇😇.From airport we reached Hotel Phu Panwa Resort in Ao Nang,Krabi by Rent a Car.Our Suite room was in the ground floor across the pool.Climate was pleasant.First day in Krabi,we just went for a drive to see around,in Krabi,Ao Nang beach, shops, people,Restaurants. It took us a while to understand the traffic and parking rules and park our car at every stop. All the cars have t be parked only on right side or only on left side of road depending on day or night. So it's obvious one don't get a vacant parking space wherever they stop by.

Next day we booked a tuk tuk,a shared auto to be specific 😀, to pick us , the next day and take us to 7 island sunset tour. We were given basic information of the tour about long tail boat, small boat,BBQ Dinner,Sunset from the island,Snorkeling, entertaining fire show by the talented boat men.

Next day we went for a morning walk along beach side,Ao Nang Beach, which is along the main road stretch, with shops on the corner if full way.We reached resort by 8 30 am.As usual, for all the vegetarians, food is never an exciting part in some places, here,in Thailand too,But I must say,we hardly found any difficulty in food since Bangkok has many 7-Eleven's we repeatedly visited for our tummy filling and all of us love 7-Eleven.Chiang Mai,as mentioned earlier in other post, has enough Indian restaurants.

Tup Island

After Ao Nang Beach, we went to the hotel for breakfast.Bread, butter, jam, cold milk for vegetarians without any surprise is the menu.Luckily we took a private car everywhere so explored our choice of restaurants. As said earlier,it was difficult to get a parking space at our desired stop in lane.We replied on GPS to direct us to the Taj Palace Restaurant, while the drive to the place is little,we had to go along the same route, making rounds, twice and thrice just to understand the parking.Once when we thought to park far ahead if the place and the other time, behind, none worked out. After some trials ,our friend who was patient enough in all four of us managed to find space and park our car.Fun time with friends on a drive though 😄😄.
Hong Island

Auto waala, tuk tuk driver has come to pick us to the resort. It was a group pick-up.We were the first bath to get in,he was in hurry to pick other members of group tour from different hotels. Then he drove to other hotels where he picked other 6 members.Everyone introduced each other, few came for a solo trip, few with friends from Germany,Italy,India etc.

Chicken Island

We made sure to carry sunscreen lotion, water bottle since it was going to be full day tour.Experiencing drizzle on the way to boat trip was nice.We collected Snorkeling equipment from travel guys and started our 7 island tour.My favorite spot is the Tup island, having a walk between the two beautiful, islands with crystal clear water.I didn't want to go to any other island but just sit her between islands, that breathtaking was Tup island, but had to make a move as it was a group tour.

Islands covered in the tour are:

Poda island
Tup island
Phi Phi island
Phra Nang Cave
Chicken Island (There is no stop near this rock but is clearly visible)
Kon Samui

Dinner is provided by the Travel agents, which is a BBQ.Once again, we were not sure if we could get any vegetarian items. There is vegetarian dish too apart from few non vegetarian dishes but we didn't like any of the dish much.Probably it is because of the food type difference. At the same time, effort was made by the boat men that all the tourists had satisfactory dinner. Many foreigners shared their experience from Snorkeling, showed us different variety of fish they captured and its beauty.

We were all tan by the time island tour is complete. :( .And that is expected.Had a good sleep after seeing the beauty of islands, clear blue sky and water, variety of fishes, many cultured people.

1237 steps to mountain
Tiger cave mountain
Next day, we asked our hotel receptionist to suggest some of the beautiful places.Tiger cave temple , is the one they suggested and we had in our list too.It was a sunny day,we started to Tiger cave temple.Once we reach what made us fearful is the '1237 steps to mountain' board in the entrance.Turned our vision towards the steps and they look very difficult to climbs,so steep, while 10 steps are normal in depth,20 other are very deep.We experienced 6000 steps trek in Cherrapunji but still were not very sure of the no so well shaped steps here 😰😰.

We recollected that one statement receptionist of our hotel gave us ,"After climbing the mountain, you will forget all the pain and see the 'Wow' view from mountain".This lady has given us one hope to take a start 😤😤😤.

Four of us started climbing steps, none communicating to other as everyone of us was moving in different paces. There was no scope to divert in any entertainment as we had to concentrate on the steep steps.I was only worried how I would climb down in return,Do I have to take support of stick?Just then I saw tourists climbing down the mountain backwards to keep the balance for the knees to support. We somehow reached the mountain top, relaxed there for some time, sued the free wifi spot and then saw the big Budha statue, saw the view, pitied ourselves for having believed the receptionist's expression of 'Wow' 😐😐.View was good though, but you know, depth of expression counts! This was the last stop in Krabi and we headed back to India, flying from Krabi to Bangkok airport.

We had to take Airport bus from Bangkok domestic airport to International airport to take Chennai Flight.
